Blue Leaf

The sky is an infinite blue leaf
In the throat of Lord Shiva
Acting as an antidote
To the poison He swallowed
After samudra manthana;
Let us tend this leaf lovingly,
For our own sake.

NILEEN'S Story

Nileen Putatunda was born in 1978. He went to St Mary’s School (ISC), Bombay, and St James’ School, Calcutta, graduating from St Stephen’s College, Delhi, in 2000. He has worked in social development.

 

DOTS is his eleventh volume of spiritual poetry; all his books have been published by Writers Workshop, India.

 

Nileen's books have been reviewed in Prabuddha Bharata, The Vedanta Kesari, Samvit, The Advent, The Journal of Commonwealth Literature, The Times of India. His poems have appeared in the journals Samvit, American Vedantist, Muse India, and Mountain Path. He has written in the opinion space of newspapers.
